Designing children’s bedrooms is wonderful fun and can be thought of out of the normal design box. Whimsical, silly and fun are great ways to describe children’s interior design bedroom ideas. You can use an interior designer to get a bedroom interior design idea or you can browse through design magazines and catalogs. The internet is another great resource for finding good children’s bedroom interior design ideas.

Bold Color

Bold color is a must for children’s bedrooms. Most little girls rooms are done in pinks, purples and peaches. The majority of little boys rooms are done in blues, greens and reds. There are no rules when it comes to bedroom interior design ideas for kids. But it is a good idea to always use bold colors. If you are using light pink to paint a little girls room, then use bolder and deeper pinks for the furniture, fabrics and accessories. Do not be afraid to add bright blues, oranges and yellow to these rooms as well. Kids love color and are stimulated by color. If the child has a favorite color and favorite hobby, go with those ideas and expand the horizon. If the child is young, use coloring books for character inspirations. Interior design bedroom ideas in children’s rooms always tend to focus on the walls. Painting large characters or murals on the walls is always a wonderful idea. Use nets to hang from the ceiling and fill it with stuffed animals or other creative ideas. Find creative ways to hide and store toys and use large prints on fabrics. A small table and chairs for coloring and playing is always a hit with the kids, as is a small tent or teepee to hide in.

If you don’t think that your creative juices can conjure up a great children’s room, much less a child’s interior design bedroom idea, then find a picture of one that you like and start with that picture. You can copy the paint and color ideas and find fabric similar to the one in the picture. Pictures are worth a thousand words and they can bring a modern interior design idea into a dated and old room. Use a modern theme and find pictures to help describe that theme and build on that idea. Pictures of rooms will always help you to decide what you like and what you don’t like. They will help you to prevent a lot of interior design mistakes.
